New Jersey Books has all books & supplies required for courses given by Prof. Crow and is the preferred provider. Texts and supplies may also be available at the Rutgers Bookstore.

All students are required to show Professor Crow their copy or copies of the required materials - your name will need to be written in the book(s) during the second week of class or before. In other words, you must show that you have obtained the required materials and are prepared to use them for the class. No exceptions!

Plant Ecology - no text: web, supplied
materials
, and library resources will be used; there could be a
cost for some suppied items

Biology of Seed Plants -
Raven et al: Biology of Plants - you must have a copy of this text!!!!

I recommend a used copy.
Note - the labs begin the week of January 22nd.

Field Studies in Plant Ecology -
Petrides: Peterson's Field Guide: Trees and Shrubs
Harlow: Fruit and Twig Key to Trees and Shrubs

You must have a 10X hand lens for field identification of plants (I recommend the B&L Hastings Triplet lens, but any 10X lens meets the requirement, correct
hiking boots (the hiking boots are very important for your safety), a pocket knife or twig clippers, and suitable notepaper for the field conditions.

The first meeting of the course will be January 28th, 8:30 AM sharp, at the Bradley Hall Parking Lot. We will not wait for anyone who is late. Be prepared for the weather conditions. This trip will be approximately a half-day adventure. If there is a schedule change it will be posted on the website and emailed via Blackboard's email. Make sure you are on Blackboard and fully registered for the course.

Note - attendance in classes is mandatory for all lectures, laboratories, and field trips.  This fact will be reflected in the grade. No make-up tests of any kind. Don't even ask!!!!! If you ask, I will know that you don't follow instructions. JHC
